And the Song Goes . . .

The Magnolia tree is one of my favorite. I had a Magnolia Jane in MD and loved the blooms!

"Sometimes living takes the life out of you . . . and sometimes living is all you can do."

That's a line from the song "Life is Hard (God is Good). Debra Talley sings it on her CD Seasons of the Heart. Debra has a beautiful and soothing alto voice. You may recognize her from the group The Talleys which includes her husband and daughter.
I bought the CD some 10 or 15 years ago, and through my adult life I have related to the words in that song. And as I've learned through many years now, no matter what you're going through, God is Good. He doesn't change. A new season will come if you'll only hold firm to His Hand.

My Magnolia Jane never failed to make me smile!

Living can take the life out of you. That's why during times of sunshine and happiness you must dedicate yourself to studying God's Word and filling your mind with good. When those bad times come, you will be filled with just the encouragement and knowledge you need to get you through.

God is often overlooked when everything is going good and you're happy in your life. But that's just the time you need to fill yourself with Him

Found these lovely blooms in my travels.

Pam Thum wrote the words to Life is Hard (God is Good) If you're in a season of tears, consider the words below.

"You turn the key then close the door behind you
Drop your bags on the floor
You reach for the light but there's darkness deep inside
And you cant' take it anymore.

'Cause sometimes living takes the life out of you
And sometimes living is all you can do.

Life is hard, the world is cold
We're barely young and then we're old
But every falling tear is always understood
Life is hard, but God is good.

You start to cry 'cause you've been strong for so long
And that's not how you feel
You try to pray but there's nothing left to say
So you just quietly kneel.

In the silence of all that you face
God will give you His mercy and grace
Jesus never said it was an easy road to travel
He only said that you would never be alone.

So when your last thread of hope
Begins to come unraveled
Don't give up, He walks beside you
On this journey home and He knows.

Life is hard, the world is cold
We're barely young and then we're old
But every falling tear is always understood
Life is hard, Oh life is hard, but God is good."

Spotted this magnificent Magnolia tree on the way to Lancaster.

During your days of sunshine and contentment, don't forget God. Fill yourself with as much of Him as you can. When those rough times come, He'll be right inside of you to help you through. Life IS hard, but God is Good!
