Walking. Yes. I'm walking! Slowly, but steadily. With a cane; without a cane. Sure feels good.
My new knee has done amazing well compared to my first knee surgery. Outpatient exercises just begun. It's been a good three weeks since surgery. I've had some concerns other than my knee, but everything seems to be working out ok.
These are Jerry's poppy in the spring garden. He turns 74 today, and it was a joy to see several of them in bloom. Their much bolder and shinier that the poppies in the wildflower garden.
You can imagine how thrilled I've been to be able to walk in the gardens. I'm using my four wheeler that Jerry picked up at a yard sale. With brakes, a seat, high handles and a basket, it's moving me along great, and I can rest whenever I need too.
The lavender clematis in the spring garden are always a delight to see.
So this first blog since surgery is of the snaps I found as I walked in my gardens this morning. My friend, Carol, suggested I name the gardens. Not much creativity, but we visit my spring garden, first; next the summer garden; next the wildflower garden, and the peony garden brings up the end.
We planted these petunias in the wheelbarrow yesterday. This was a new addition to the summer garden last year. I always enjoy seeing flowers in a wheelbarrow.
Hope you enjoy the blooms from the girl who never wanted to be a gardener! See what retiring can do for you!
The rose bush in the wildflower garden is in full bloom. These are roses that you don't have to do anything to but deadhead. There's a lot of pink to enjoy.
I love the bachelor button flower. It's just a little flower, but the blue is attractive, and the pink below is nice too.
I will always be grateful for my friend Kathy, and my sister-in-law, Bobbie, who provided enormous help and guidance when I started in gardening.
I was excited to see the first peony bloom of the season this morning! I have two peony patches and love the fullness and fluffiness of the flower.
There won't be as many container gardens this year, and we still have some petunias to plant, and some giant zinnia and hollyhock to put in the ground. Hopefully we can get them in over the next few days. But I'll have plenty of beauty to enjoy each morning, my favorite time to walk through the gardens, as I thank God for the beauty of His creation.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers!
